Hi

We want to restrict to first order or up to second order streams while generating streams. This will help to delineate the main catchment to these orders. If we had too many sub order streams, the catchment generated are too many. Please help us to resolve this.

Thanks

Hi,

When you are using CatchmentSIM's automatic catchment breakup algorithm, you can choose which order streams you want to map catchments for. So, if you set this to 3, CatchmentSIM will not generate catchments for the 1st and 2nd order streams but only for 3rd order or higher.

Also, if you find you are getting lots of small first order streams, you can use the Minimum Source Channel Length option to reduce the number.

Does this answer you question?

Thanks Chris for your reply. Is there any way to control the stream orders while generating the stream itself? This will give us control on number of crossings required for an infrastructure crossing the streams. Or there is a way to switch off certain order before the delineating catchments? Please let us know.

Regards

Sravan
